Viola "Sissy" Keys, 77, Jonesborough, passed away peacefully in the arms of Jesus while surrounded by her loved ones following a brief illness. She had retired from Eastman following many years of service to spend time with her family and just to enjoy life. Viola spent many years supporting and cheering for her sons on the local racetracks and was their biggest fan, known as Race Mom. She was a member of Logans Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Katherine Hulse, and brother, Gene Hulse.
Viola is survived by her 2 sons, Robbie Ferguson and wife, Kim, and Jeff Ferguson and wife, Porsha; 4 grandchildren, Niki, Tiffany and fiancé, Jarrod, Chelsey and Casey; 3 great-grandchildren, Roman, Bentley and Marlee; very special sister, Martha Dean and husband, Joe; 2 nephews, Joe Dean Jr. and wife, Patricia, and John Hulse; and niece, Rita Bernard.
A very special thank you to the angelic nurses on the 3rd floor of Wilcox Hall for the love and care that they gave mom.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch and at any time at the home of her son, Robbie. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Jeff Ferguson officiating.
The graveside service will be held on Thursday at 3:30 pm at Logans Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Family and friends serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 871 N. Weisgarber Rd., Knoxville, TN 37909.
