Vivian Rasnake Cox

Vivian Rasnake Cox, 92, of Kingsport, TN, passed away peacefully at her daughters home on August 24, 2025. She was born in Russell County, VA, and grew up in Kingsport, TN. Vivian was the tenth child born to Otis and Causby Murdock Rasnake. She graduated from Sullivan High School and went on to work for the Kingsport Press for approximately 40 years before retiring. However, her most important job was being a mother to her three children. Vivian enjoyed reading, cooking, and watching the Carolina Tar Heels and WNBA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; along with ten siblings.

Vivian is survived by her children, Mike “Jim” Cox (Mary), Steve Cox (Marlene), and Kathy Cox; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Gunnings Cemetery with Rev. Roy Leedy officiating.
