William Ralph Housewright, Sr.

William Ralph Housewright Sr, 88, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Sunday August 9th, 2026 surrounded by his family.

William proudly retired from Eastman Chemical Company after 30 years of service. Outside of work, he enjoyed the simple things in life. He enjoyed farming, fishing, playing cards, watching the Atlanta Braves, of whom he was a big fan; and NASCAR Racing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Delphia Housewright; daughter, Vanessa Bateman West; brothers, James, Harold, Odie Housewright; sisters, Genell Duncan, Margie Hunt and Marie Mitchell.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Housewright; daughters, Eleanor Good, Kristal Spangler and husband Tim; sons, Bill Housewright,  Mark Housewright and wife, Gillian, Carl Housewright and wife Tammy; brothers, Scotty and Ricky Housewright; sisters, Carolyn Jenkins and Betty Allen (Perry); several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews who will carry his memory in their hearts.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm till 2:00pm Thursday August 13th, 2026 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home and Memorial Park 2630 Hwy 75 Blountville, TN. A funeral service will follow at 2:00PM with Pastor Rick Vannoy officiating.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Solomon with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
