William Harold “Bob” Maness, 91 years old, passed away peacefully at Spring Arbor Senior Living on August 11, 2026.
Bob was born in Jasper, Virginia on January 18, 1935, to Lily Easter Maness. Living in “the holler” and being the only boy with two sisters, Bob had to grow up fast. Bob moved to Kingsport at age 14 and resided with his Uncle Jay and Aunt Ethel who were an integral part of his life.
He met his wife Partha at age 20. Partha passed this past May; they were married 70 years.
Bob retired in 1993 after 30 years of service with the City of Kingsport.
Bob was a simple man who loved his family. In addition to his immediate family, he had many special Aunts, Uncles and Cousins who he loved dearly. He valued work ethic, honesty, country cooking, and a well mowed lawn.
He was preceded in death by his wife Partha Collins Maness; mother, Lily Easter Maness and sister, Jean Cox.
He is survived by his daughters, Gail Atlas (Werner) and Wanda Reece (Scott); five grandchildren, Misty House (Jeffrey), Karla Ashley Schroth (Wayne), Devin Atlas, Matthew Reece (Paige), Bradley Reece (Holly), and seven great-grandchildren (Eric, Xander, Eli, Hannah, Liam, Liam Elijah and Lincoln). Sister, Lois Bishop and Niece, Kathy Wissinger.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Hamlett- Dobson Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Blountville, from 11:00am to 12:00pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 noon with burial to follow in the Garden of Solomon.
The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice both in Johnson City and Knoxville for the care they gave both Partha and Bob.
