Herman Eugene Barrett
Herman Eugene Barrett, 69, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 24, 2013 after an extended illness.
He loved life, being with family and friends, and telling jokes.
Eugene was a mason by trade.
His parents, Ruby and Clay Barrett, son, David Barrett, two sisters, and one brother preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Glenda Barrett, of the home; sons, Daniel and Travis; daughter, Brenda Pierce and husband Kenny; two special grandsons, Aaron and Austin Pierce; several other grand and great-grandchildren; and sister, Fannie Couch.
The family will receive friends anytime at the home.
Services will be 5:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home with Rev. David Hutson officiating.
Graveside will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Barrett Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to offset funeral expenses.
