Paul Winegar, 82, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 3, 2020, at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Paul owned and operated Paul Winegar’s Garage for over 50 years. He was of the Baptist Faith. Paul loved spending time with his wife, daughters, granddaughters, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Gilliam; parents; one sister; and six brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jeanann Winegar; two daughters, Karen Watkins and husband James, and Kathy Hurd and husband, Pat; three granddaughters, Sarah Beth Rains, Amanda Vaughan and husband Justin, and Heather Hite and husband Donavon; nine great-grandchildren, Gavin, Ethan, Gabe, Ryan, Evie, Evan, Kaiden, Elijah, and Veda; one sister, Doris Way; several nieces and nephews; and special dog, Happy.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2020, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Andy Sensabaugh officiating.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020, at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Military Rites by American Legion Hammond Posts 3/265.
Pallbearers will be Donavon Hite, Ryan Hite, Justin Vaughan, Gavin Paul Vaughan, Gabe Vaughan, and Ethan Jessee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital For Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, Florida, 33607.
