Sandy Sloop

Sandy Sloop, 73, of Chuckey, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly, Sunday morning, October 18, 2020, at Carilion Memorial in Roanoke, VA. She was born in Unicoi Co., TN, and had lived most of her adult life in Kingsport and Fall Branch. Sandy was a R. N. and a member of Bethany Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed her mornings with coffee and conversations with Ed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Hazel Howell; brother, Darius Harrell; and first spouse, Bruce Sloop.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Steven Swiney; son, Ed Sloop and wife Liquita; great niece, Hallie Nettles and Marcus; two grandchildren, Dana and Hunter; one great-grandchild, Emmett; sister, Gwendolyn Plummer and Harold; and brother, Steven  Harrell.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at East Tennessee Cemetery with Pastor Bill Reed.

Pallbearers will be Wade Hartman,  Hunter Hill,  Sky Arrowood, Frank Rutledge, Pat Hurney, and Clay Arrowood. Honorary pallbearer will be Marcus Nettles.
