Warren Strickler, 53, went peacefully to Heaven Saturday evening, January 25, 2020 surrounded by loved ones dear to him. Warren lived in Kingsport, TN and graduated from Sullivan South High School in 1985 and from Virginia Tech with an Electrical Engineering degree in 1989. He was a talented Engineer most recently working at MacDermid in Morristown, TN as well as owning and operating his own business Automated Engineering Solutions in Kingsport. His passion was lifting weights with his son Zachary in the home/garage gym they fashioned together and spending time with his grandson Hunter. Warren was also enthusiastic about cars and racing, from his Fairlane, Camaro and Dodge truck to his years spent racing dirt late models at several local tracks.
Warren is preceded in death by his mother Linda Strickler, his paternal and maternal grandparents, Louise and Kenneth Stidham, and Rosie and Virgil Strickler and his uncle Jerry Strickler.
Surviving are his son Zachary Strickler and fiancée Kailey; grandson Hunter of Gray, TN; his father David and girlfriend Cookie, Kingsport, TN; his brother Aaron and wife Jennifer, Kingsport, TN; nephews Jacob and Lukas; and his girlfriend Rhonda Kinsler; several loving cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and co-workers.
The family will receive friends Wednesday (Jan. 29, 2020) from 5-7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Chris Brown officiating.
Burial will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at East Tennessee Cemetery. Those attending the committal services are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m. Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Strickler, James Keesley, Brandon Kinsler, Brad Smith, Scott Willford, and Mark Strickler. Honorary pallbearers are Lukas Strickler and Jim Strickler.
The family would like to honor Warren by asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the American Cancer Society, 817 N. Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, TN 37909.
